I began my studies at The International School of Shiatsu. At the time I was caring for my elderly Father who dealt with Parkinson’s disease. I was his sole caregiver and he required a lot of support. I was emotionally, mentally, and physically strained. I had never really considered studying bodywork, however, when an ad for the International School of Shiatsu crossed my path…I just knew. I did not realize the condition I was in until I began taking classes. I could not be touched without feeling excruciating pain, I was beyond exhausted, and my mind processes felt like they were no longer in working order. The practice of Shiatsu not only gave me the ability to heal my body, mind, and spirit it also gave me the strength to carry through the process of caring for my Father. As I continued my studies to include the practices of Shin Tai, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to share this bodywork and its benefits with others.
I will forever be grateful for The International School of Shiatsu and all the amazing educators…especially Saul Goodman, the founder of I.S.S. & Shin Tai International and Shirley Scranta the current Owner and Director of The International School of Shiatsu.
Bodywork is about Wellness. Wellness is a Harmony between the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of our self. Harmony is Creativity at its finest.
